Advisor Operations

We are looking for an Advisor Operations, Tools and Equipment, to join our Ottawa location.

This Operations Advisor, Tools and Equipment, will have primary accountability for management of the Ottawa Region tool and equipment programs in addition to providing technical support to day-to-day operations. You will also provide technical expertise or specialized assistance when required.

What You Will Do

  • Provide technical support in the area of maintenance within the region.

  • Overall responsibility for the management of the Ottawa Region tools and equipment and related programs: Capital Tooling Requisition program, leak survey equipment calibration and Lock-Out Tag-Out equipment program.

  • Responsible for the planning and execution of Vital/Critical Main Standby process.

  • Provide day to day contractor oversight where required such as supervising adherence to procedures, initial customer escalation issue resolution, QA Non-Conformance resolution, incident review support, and invoicing (construction, hydrovac, excavation, restoration contractors).

  • Provide backup to Supervisor Operations as required, assuming all responsibilities and accountabilities of a Supervisor Operations, including the coordination of field emergencies and response including any distribution system and gas related customer emergencies.

  • Provide pre-inspections services as the need arises.

  • Responsible to support the QA nonconformance process within the region

  • Track progress of work and follow up on scheduling, materials, design, or construction problems.

  • Investigate customer complaints and inquiries and ensures that a timely and satisfactory solution is achieved.

  • Support the field staff to ensure operational efficiency and customer happiness.

  • Build and maintain external relationships with contractors, the Ministry of Labor, Ministry of Environment, TSSA and first responders such as fire and police services. Act as the regional coordinator for the delivery of Enbridge’s Fire Department training outreach program.

  • Act as local lead for Company initiatives as required.

  • Responsible for employee, customer and public safety. Promote Enbridge brand to customers and community.

  • On Call Rotation required.

Who You Are

You will have the following education and experience:

  • Related university degree and a minimum of four (4) years’ experience OR a minimum of six (6) years of previous field operations experience. Equivalent combination of formal education and experience may be considered.

  • Strong technical knowledge resulting from exposure to distribution pipeline field operations or equivalent experience.

  • Proven communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills required.

  • Strong digital literacy.

  • Knowledge of OHSA and applicable environmental legislation is considered an asset.

  • A Gas Fitter 2 ticket is desired.
