Scope

Demand Planners work closely with multiple departments across the business including…

  • Sales managers, product development teams, and customers to capture the best collaborative forecast.
  • Supply Planning team to ensure production needs are clearly defined and that goods ship on time.
  • Customers to align retail sales expectations, assist with the containerization of direct flow goods, and address opportunities.
  • Operations team to make sure orders are shipping in a timely manner and event expectations are communicated.
  • Warehouse partners to prioritize container unloading and resource planning to meet inventory targets.
  • Senior Management to ensure forecasts align with company initiatives/goals.

Primary Responsibilities

Demand Planners maintain a PSI (Production, Sales, and Inventory Plan), improve processes, help achieve corporate targets, and define opportunities to reduce costs. This position is responsible for creating and maintaining multiple customer forecasts for a portfolio of power tool models. In addition, this position would define inventory targets and purchasing needs to support company sales while exceeding desired service levels.

  • Define inventory needs to support variations in demand.
  • Obtain, analyze, and interpret supply chain relevant data from multiple sources.
  • Plan purchase order forecast to ensure an adequate supply of finished product from our suppliers.
  • Track customer orders in relation to MTD shipment forecast expectations.
  • Coordinate receiving priorities and order exceptions with our distribution partners.
  • Maintain reports critical to business function. This includes financial forecast, inventory projections, service performance, and forecast accuracy.
  • Schedule regular meetings and report out all potential supply chain failures and opportunities.
  • Capture failures, root cause, corrective action, and document accountability.
  • Address customer emergencies and manage through to resolve.
  • Assist with Customer Compliancy Disputes.
  • Build relationships throughout supply chain to recognize and address process improvement opportunities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Operations, Engineering, or related field are preferred. OR equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years TTI or industry related experience with retail sales, marketing, transportation, distribution, purchasing, or manufacturing.
  • Well versed in Microsoft Office Suite applications with intermediate Excel skills (V-lookups, Pivot tables)
  • Demonstrate statistical, analytical, and mathematical aptitude.
  • Ability to develop and manage metrics that drive performance.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work on a fast-paced cross functional team.
  • Ability to work in a process driven environment where priorities change rapidly with firm deadlines.
  • SAP Experience a plus.
  • Demand Planning software experience a plus. Specifically, Logility.
  • Power BI experience a plus
