We seek applications from energetic, enthusiastic, reliable and hard-working individuals to join the team for the 2021 cotton ginning season.
The ginning season varies year to year, however in 2021 we anticipate the season to commence in April and run for approximately three months
What roles are available?
A range of roles are available, and we expect you to be willing to learn as many roles as you can. All training will be provided. Some work is inside, other roles are predominantly outside.
Roles include:
- operating a tractor
- operating a truck
- forklift operators
- operate a moonbuggy
- operating the bale bagging machine
- gin cleaner and general hand
- loader operators
Do I need experience?
You don’t necessarily need experience to become a seasonal worker at Queensland Cotton. Some roles require special tickets whereas others do not require specific skills and are suitable for people from all backgrounds.
What you do need is to be flexible with your availability, reliably turn up and be willing to put in a hard day of work. At this stage the Mungindi Cotton Gin will be running 24hrs a day doing two 12-hour shift starting at 7am-7pm and 7pm-7am for 12 consecutive days on – 2 day off roster. Making the earning potential worthwhile!
You must also have the right to work in Australia and be confident of passing the company’s pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screen. The safety of all our workers is paramount so you may also be asked to complete a Safety Assessment prior to joining the team.
