We are seeking an experienced and hardworking Manager of Music Industry Communications based in our New York City office.
The Manager of Music Industry Communications will serve as an integral member of the Communications Team. Working closely with our Global Head of Music Industry Communications, you will be responsible for global public relations activities related to our Music and Marketplace business units. This includes assisting with music industry-facing product launches and updates, trade media relations, executive thought leadership, artist & songwriter-focused communications, and special projects including government affairs and policy support.
What you´ll do
- Provide counsel and high-level strategic industry communications support to the Music and Marketplace teams.
- Develop and execute communications plans around music industry-facing product launches and updates.
- Collaborate with the Music and Marketplace teams to communicate music-related success stories through both traditional and non-traditional channels.
- Coordinate with the broader global communications team to tell stories across all local markets.
- Orchestrate impactful trade media opportunities on behalf of the artist and songwriter relations teams.
- Vet incoming speaking opportunities for executives and proactively secure thought leadership opportunities.
- Develop communications materials for reputation management and optimally respond to incoming inquiries.
- Liaise with external music industry partners on various communications projects.
- Collaborate with the Government Affairs & Policy teams to support music-related projects.
- Report to Spotify’s Global Head of Music Industry Communications.
- You will work out of the New York Office.
Who you are
- 7+ years of experience in music, entertainment or media communications.
- Strong music industry knowledge, media contacts and relationships.
- Strategic thinker with the ability to multitask and work in a fast paced, startup environment.
- Outstanding writing and verbal communications skills.
- Strong understanding of data and insights.
- Ability to translate sophisticated concepts into clear communications.
- Focused project management skills with attention to detail across deliverables and multiple stakeholders.
