Production Associate – Cheese Opener (Strip & Clean) Lead – (Weekend Days)

Weekend Position – Friday, Saturday, Sunday (4a-4p)

How you will make contributions that matter…

  • Mentor and coach all strip and clean employees regarding safety methods and procedures (i.e. Proper Lifting Techniques, Proper Knife Handling Techniques, SDS, etc.).
  • Ensure proper training of employees new to strip and clean.
  • Reduce the amount of trim and waste by working with to the line leads, strip and clean employees, and supervisors.
  • Select correct harp size and ensure it is functioning properly
  • Ensure trim procedures are being properly followed, including, the recording of trim, the proper sealing of the trim, proper labeling of trim
  • Ensure accuracy at product change overs
  • Assist the lines during set up, help with break rotations, and help on the lines when needed.
  • Keeps work areas neat, clean, safe and organized always.
  • Optimize the use of time, personnel, materials, and equipment to maximize line efficiencies.
  • Repair, replace and maintain harp string on cutters ensuring all GMP and quality standards are met and maintain the efficient flow of product through the production process.
  • Ensure the type and quality of cheese being used matches the customer specifications, food safety & quality standards, and efficiency standards through product inspections.
  • Neatly, accurately, and legibly maintain all records and documentation.
  • Aware of the value of all necessary tools and equipment and maintains them for optimal use.

  • Recent leadership experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to train others in both one-on-one and group settings.
  • Able to remain objective and react consistently and fairly in all situations.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills with team members and all necessary departments.
  • Advanced technical training a plus.
  • Able to understand production schedules and read production specifications.
  • Able to perform and understand basic math: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and fractions.
  • Computer literate in MS Office; good computer skills needed to learn company systems.
