The Role
The purpose and unique contribution of your role is to lead and drive technology simplification initiatives and oversee execution of the decommissioning of legacy technology across our platforms. If you have a passion for creating a scaled ecosystem and are brimming with ideas on delivering seamless projects, this could be the role for you. You are part of a technology products and services division, that creates market differentiation through deployment of resilient, innovative technology and contemporary methods, at scale.
Supporting the execution of the IAG Technology Strategy, you will play a key role contributing to the “Simplification Pillar”. You will lead a small team of Project Managers and Analysts to effectively execute a roadmap of decommissioning initiatives from discovery through to final decommissioning.
You will be part of a leadership team who understands how to support our customers through change. You should bring experience applying a Data Migration mindset and practices that optimises the simplification of technology. You will ensure a high degree of quality through the application of all project management disciplines and also develop and implement best practice procedures for technology decommissioning.
As an authentic leader, you will cultivate innovation within your team and partners and will demonstrate and encourage life-long learning. You will be an experienced people leader, with a passion for leading teams and developing people.
What you can bring to the role:
Be outcome oriented and a self-starter
Experienced in leading and developing high performing teams
Financial services industry experience, insurance preferably with a good working knowledge of policy and claims processes.
6 plus years of demonstrable project/program management experience in application / technology lifecycle management and application development, ideally in application decommissioning projects
Good understanding of distributed computing technologies including server hardware, storage, network, database management and virtual environments, preferably data migration and archiving technologies.
Proven experience in business and IT relationship management; working in / with matrix structures and influencing senior business and technology leaders
Operations and technology management experience at a senior level
Demonstrated experience across varying project delivery methodologies, including agile.
