What we need:
Mohawk is looking for a Director of Sustainability who can do more with Mohawk as we deepen our commitment to operating as a business that respects our planet and leaves a positive imprint on the people and communities that we touch.
This position will partner with teams across Flooring North America to champion Mohawk’s sustainability initiatives, create and lead programs, and ultimately build a holistic framework that embeds sustainability into the Mohawk culture.
What you’ll do:
- Evaluate current sustainability priorities and build operational strategies and programs that increase ROI and our reputation among customers
- Conduct research and benchmarking for key trends and translate those findings into best company practices and goals
- Identify areas where Mohawk can improve and partner with other departments to create more sustainable solutions
- Engage stakeholders and form relationships with key suppliers, thought leaders, and critical non-governmental organizations within the sustainability community
- Design training and educational materials to communicate Mohawk’s sustainability brand
- Manage a team of sustainability specialists
What you have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline required, master’s preferred
- 5 to 7 years of experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of sustainability principles, implementation and strategic planning processes
- A passion for making the planet a better place
What you’re good at:
- Communicating effectively with a wide range of individuals in written, oral, and interpersonal form
- Organizing, planning, and executing large scale projects from conception through implementation
- Successfully managing program budgets and allocating resources to maximize impact
