We are accepting applications for the Securities Clearing & Settlement Associate to join the team.
- Responsible to monitor and settle securities trades from trading floor activities between Zions and other institutional counterparties.
- Settles trades in Depository Trust Company (DTC) and Federal Reserve systems.
- Verifies trades by confirming trade information with counterparties that settle through National Securities Clearing Corporation (NSCC) and Fixed Income Clearing Corporation (FICC).
- Works with securities sales and trading officers to resolve any trade differences with counterparties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge
- Basic knowledge of securities clearing and settlement processes, procedures, systems, general accounting principles, journal entries, processing, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of various investment laws and regulations.
- An understanding of DTC, NSCC, FICC and Fed Clearance.
- Ability to balance and reconcile settlement accounts.
- Good attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure.
- Ability to work under specific time constants.
- Must have good interpersonal, customer service and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work with internal traders.
- Good research and problem resolution skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
Education & Experience
- Requires a Bachelor’s in finance, business or a related field and some experience with securities clearing and settlement processes, procedures, systems or other directly related experience.
- A combination of education and experience may meet requirements.
Working experience with BNY Mellon’s Broker-Dealer Clearance (BDC) platform preferred.
