Engineering Transformation Lead

Role Purpose

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Engineering Transformation Lead to join JLL Work Dynamics.

The Engineering Transformation Lead will be responsible for engineering development roadmap defining industry leading asset management strategies for our clients building systems. They will bring together new technologies, best practice, innovation into reshaping how we plan asset lifecycles.

It is essential that the Engineering Transformation Lead is technically very strong, is a proven strategic thinker, an outstanding leader of teams, and has excellent communication skills at all levels of management.

What this job involves

  • Responsible for ensuring; all transitions (i.e. mobilisation of new engineering business) and subsequent transformation work is executed strictly in accordance with JLL’s approved operational protocols (Playbook Pillars) under the direction of the EMEA Head of Engineering
  • Goal Zero – Embed EHS as a way of doing business
  • Ensure a high level of Client’s satisfaction, establishing and managing the service delivery teams, and ensuring consistency in process, systems, and reporting
  • Ensure the efficient and consistent operation of all Facility Engineering activities to meet contractual obligations (MSA and Local Country Agreements) with respect to client’s property portfolio.
  • Responsible for supporting the business in executing JLL’s Operations Compliance Programme i.e. provide training, mentoring, auditing the engineering business for compliance against in country statutory compliance and JLL best practice.

Core Competencies

Financial Management

  • Lead the development & execution of the global and regional Engineering budgets and Forecasting in accordance with Client’s and Finance Director requirements
  • Be responsible for achievement of the agreed financial targets to include revenue, expenses, savings, margin, WIP and aged debtors.
  • Manage the net operating revenue and protect margin for the IFM business.
  • Participate in the quarterly forecasting sessions with overall responsibility for all hard services elements of the global contract
  • Oversee the billing of the Engineering Services accounts in accordance with the management agreements.
  • Meet the engineering growth targets for the account
  • Look for opportunities to cross-sell services and work with other business lines to convert.

Operational Excellence

  • Ensure MVA & KPI assurance, Local Legislation Compliance, Implementation of Corporate Initiatives, Implementation and evidencing of training and procedure to ISO9001 standard.
  • Be responsible for the direct management of all resources involved in the delivery of Engineering Services. (e.g. recruitment, ethics, performance assessment, personal development, personal wellbeing) driving JLL standing as employer of choice.
  • Actively manage the professional development of all direct reports using JLL Workday and MyLearning.
  • Prepare and implement a succession plan for key positions of direct and in-direct reports.
  • Be responsible for the implementation of technology systems to support services delivery, including required reporting.
  • Support the development and ensure effective implementation of standard operating, maintenance, and emergency procedures for the account.
  • Support the development and then implement and manage all global and regional initiatives and programs across all regions.
  • Drive Client’s specific initiatives such as savings targets, benchmarking, and best practices, including EHS risk management.
  • Drive global consistency across the account e.g. reporting, SOP’, systems, and HR practices.
  • Drive a continuous improvement culture in respect to operational delivery.
  • Drive the implementation of JLL’s Strategic Asset Management (SAM) program and technology platforms.
  • Provide accurate data and operational knowledge to drive operational improvements through root cause failure analysis, predictive failure mode, and mean time to failure trending.
  • Establish consistency in monthly reporting across the portfolio to the satisfaction of the JLL and Client’s reporting requirements
  • Responsibility for implementation account-specific global engineering playbooks and their ongoing use and development for engineering training, continuous improvement and achieving best practice i.e. to be aligned to JLL’s Global Engineering Network.

Client’s and Account Management

  • Be the single point of contact for Engineering service delivery and act as escalation point across the account.
  • Be accountable for the service delivery to meet the contractual obligations in respect to engineering and energy management across the account.
  • Manage relationships with key stakeholders in the Client’s organization.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding on the Client’s business and key factors influencing their requirements for our services.

Contract Management

  • Ensure the adherence to the MSA and all Engineering deliverables.
  • Be responsible for the achievement of key performance indicators, service levels and other measures as contracted.
  • Implement and manage the change control process.
  • Manage the governance process for the engineering work streams within the account.

Client’s Value

  • Develop strong relationships with key personnel in the Client’s organization
  • Demonstrate to the Client’s – IFM’s engineering value and global best practices
  • Ensure Client’s surveys are conducted and co-ordinate Client’s feedback follow-up program.

Health & Safety

  • Enforce a zero tolerance to unsafe working practices to target a goal zero accident rate.
  • Responsibility for the implementation of a global engineering Safe System of Work for the management of high-risk engineering works, controlled under the Permit to Work system.

Transition Management

  • Support account transition programs and ensure engineering best practices & policies are adhered to.
  • Drive research and development of innovative ideas for JLL to maintain its competitive edge.
  • Evaluate, propose & pilot appropriate tools/processes to support the engineering operation.

Compliance, training, & Accreditation

  • Ensure effective and timely implementation of training plans to enhance and develop the skills of technicians to ensure they remain competent to carry out their assigned duties and reduce our reliance on sub-contractors.
  • Ensure engineering services is 100% certified, with licenses to operate by the recognized external governing organization where appropriate to do so
  • Ensure engineering practices are continuously compliant with legal, statutory, and contractual obligations and are being consistently executed across the account portfolio in accordance with current JLL practice and best in class requirements.
  • Ensure global resources are in place to govern high risk engineering activities, including the Authorized Person structure, Permit To Work system, internal and supplier teams, and that systems remain aligned and consistent and staff accreditations remain up to date; liaise with Engineering Services, as necessary, to support and ensure this is achieved

Best Practice

  • Global responsibility for the ongoing pursuit of best practice engineering delivery and for supporting the Global Operations Director and JLL Executive Team in all strategies and programmes for improvement
  • Develop feasibility / proof case studies as requested
  • To assist in the development of marketing materials that describe the JLL approach to the engineering function which can be used to demonstrate the firms’ capabilities to potential new Client’s during business pursuits.

Senior Management Team Responsibilities

  • Active collaborative participation in all central IFM /Engineering leadership / management meetings
  • Liaison with Engineering Services Global Engineering Network and Critical Environment Boards to promote engineering standards, global alignment and consistency and drive engineering excellence on and off the account

Qualifications

  • Engineering Degree qualified in an appropriate discipline (e.g. Mechanical/Electrical/Building Services Engineering) or relevant experience
  • Health and Safety qualification (e.g. NEBOSH) considered beneficial
