Position Overview:
This EMEA Field CTO role is a high-impact leadership position. The responsibilities include strategic customer and partner advocacy and support of strategic opportunities while closely following industry trends and insights to craft corporate strategy and product priorities. This person will regularly evangelize Citrix strategy and vision as an industry leader while serving as a public spokesperson with customers, partners, press and analysts as well as producing content for various mediums such as blogs or podcasts.
This is an outstanding role for the forward-thinking business strategist and well-rounded technologist at heart with a functional background in Digital Workspace transformation, who possesses deep industry knowledge and a passion for evangelizing! A key focus of the role is to engage at an executive level to help shape technology strategies that deliver on business outcomes. Our Field CTO Office is comprised of people who take pride in maintaining technical depth and breadth in their areas of expertise and in playing a highly influential role in crafting the vision and strategies for our customers and partners, internal product, marketing, and sales teams and the industry at large.
As a leader with vision, engaging with customers, partnerships, and community, this person is in an advantageous position to find opportunities to better serve our customers, as well as identify gaps or opportunities in the market. Synthesizing insights from the ecosystem allows our team to drive both organic and inorganic growth for Citrix. Our office is closely aligned with the CTO Product Engineering group to influence product development as well as the Chief Innovation Officer group to identify M&A activities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Develop and carry out strategy for driving awareness high into customer organizations
- Act as a focal point for the voice of the customer, providing a strong link between Field & Product
- Assist Product in the collection, organization, and prioritization of customer requirements and market opportunities and acts as a driving force among the organization for an efficient product line roadmap
- Engage our global customer and partner base to articulate the Citrix vision & strategy; research and discover alternative sources of industry trends and market data to analyze and validate market size (in addition to analyst reports, etc.) assumptions and usage data
- Use field insights to organically and inorganically influence investments
- Focus on one or more strategic industry verticals or technology domains; work alongside cross-Geo & Global Field teams to support strategic customer engagements; validate existing customer challenges and explore and develop innovative ways to arrive at new outcomes
- Act as a customer advocate to build “push/pull” model for product & service validation & strategy; engage with Global System Integrators (GSIs), Cloud Innovation Partners (CIP), and our world-class partner networks (CSA/CSP) to help drive innovations in solutions and outcomes, as well as learn from the entire ecosystem; construct external thought leadership content to help define how we are perceived in the marketplace including targeting new & emerging buyer personas
- Drive the acquisition of customer “white space” (expand and net-new) opportunity and trend analysis and optimally communicate a detailed understanding of how customer challenges can be addressed with existing product feature expansion or net-new opportunities; and support the sales process with key customers acting as the “face of Citrix” and providing critical inputs for proposals and contracts.
Basic Qualifications:
- Experience in a client-facing role explaining strategic and tactical concepts to customers. This includes engaging and influencing varied audiences, from C-level to the technical community as well as internal product and engineering teams.
- Industry and technical domain knowledge and experience in digital workspace transformation or in relevant industry vendor role.
- Ability to act as a solution leader with foresight in both customer and large industry conference settings. This includes wide-ranging and engaging communication and presentation skills: verbal, written, and visual. The person should be able to pinpoint opportunities that can be used to help encourage and influence the corporate direction and product blueprints.
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 10+ years of relevant industry work is required.
- Experience engaging community via speaking and/or social mediums such as blogs and podcasts.
- Capability of communicating with partners in numerous time zones globally using collaboration platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
- MBA or Master’s in Technology Management or Informations Systems preferred.
- Experience with cross-team/matrixed organizations influencing multiple partners preferred.
- No immediate travel is required; however, beyond 2021, the ability to travel up to 65% could be a plus.
