What we’re looking for:

The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist provides analysis and decision support within the HR Business Intelligence & Workforce Strategy team, enabling ad hoc, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and analysis that can be utilized as the basis for making informed decisions in all businesses supported by our function. Performs analysis and planning activities for operations including headcount management, attrition, performance, talent acquisition, audit and compliance and many other subject areas pertaining to organizations and human capital.

The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist will be able to document data findings, provide details, and present findings with recommendations to management.  Individual will enhance the running of reports and automate each as necessary.   The position will also involve creation and maintenance of complex spreadsheets and the ability to create reports or presentations from the results.   This includes owning the development and implementation of automation standards and creating operational efficiencies using systematic methods to increase productivity and lead change.

This includes heavy data analysis and research, with the ability to manipulate, analyze, and trend the results.  In addition, this person must create new methods of communicating human capital analysis and reporting to assist the greater executive management team in understanding their business.

Position Summary:

The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist contributes analytical and business expertise within the HR Business Intelligence & Workforce Strategy team. The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist enables reports and statistical analysis and supports the development of advanced analytics and tools to inform decisions in all businesses supported by our function. The position is internal customer facing and have subject areas within Workforce Strategy scope comprise all aspects of Human Capital management including headcount, attrition, performance, talent acquisition, organizational evolution, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, audit and compliance and many other subject areas. The successful candidate should also have strong communication, PPT, and excel skills to deliver customized needs that support the business partners and executive decks that may yet fulfilled by existing automated reporting.

The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist will enable automation, production, and delivery of key data and business metrics in collaboration with cross-functional teams, balancing flexibility for the business with the necessary information governance enterprise-wide leveraging visualization and data manipulation tools such as Tableau or SQL.  The HRBI Business Analyst/Data Scientist will form a strategic partnership with the HRBI Lead Developer, managing, building and modeling the data and business reporting needs supporting HRBI and Workforce Strategy, providing business perspective and recommendations in consideration of deliverables produced and utilized within and outside the core team.  This strategic partnership will insure the data modeling and views deployed to address business needs. This role is available for remote employment.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Under the guidance of the Director HRBI & WS and with the HRBI Lead Developer, own the development and implementation of automation standards and create operational efficiencies using systematic methods to increase productivity and lead change
  • Perform business analyst tasks by researching, documenting and communicating business processes, data requirements and automated business process recommendations, including solutions that support consistent, automated reports and business metrics
  • Perform heavy data analysis and research, with the ability to manipulate, analyze, and trend results. In addition, will support creating new methods of communicating human capital analysis and reporting to assist producers and consumers in standard MS Office tools, Tableau and potentially other environments
  • Partnering with the HRBI Lead Developer, drive the development, implementation, maintenance and expansion of team data marts, data cubes, tables and peripheral sources supporting required and desired analytics
  • Manage key data validations, including interaction with functional leads in data stewardship and identifying and driving resolution of data issues
  • Maintain alignment with role definitions as to appropriate visibility of HRBI data and measures
  • Work with IT and BI organizations on future data structures and deployment processes, and collaborate with both in the general maintenance of HRBI systems and related controls
  • Participate in activities associated with systems and reporting enhancements and releases including the creation and execution of project plans, documentation of business requirements, testing sessions, creating and reviewing test scripts and logistical requirements, and results documentation
  • Promote the quick adoption of Tableau desktop by creating or supporting the creation of Tableau dashboards for HRBI analytics
  • Drive efficiencies in the team’s workload and methods with the use of MS SQL Server tools (SSIS/SSRS), Access and Tableau to streamline processes
  • Partner with stakeholders to identify valuable datasets from internal and external sources and models and provide in meaningful format
  • Support the design of ad hoc analysis and reporting requests and periodic organizational planning as needed
  • Document data findings, provide details, and present observations and conclusions with recommendations to management and teams as reporting capabilities and experience increase

Qualifications:

  • Excellent skills in verbal and written communication and high proficiency in business acumen.
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft office tools (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint Word)
  • Ability to translate business requirements into development of reports, visualizations and/or dashboards
  • Technical proficiency in Microsoft SQL Data Modeling and Query building as well as Visualization Tool – Tableau required.
  • Work with an analytical approach and attention to detail, exhibiting curiosity, flexibility and vision towards future state solutions
  • Advanced written and verbal communication skills with ability to express complex technical and business concepts
  • Understanding of data and information management with ability to make recommendations for ensuring and validating data quality
  • Demonstrated ability to identify process improvements and drive system and process changes
  • Team orientation – ability to collaborate and develop productive relationships across business functions and IT/BI organizations
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and to complete assignments given aggressive time constraints
  • Bachelor’s degree required;  MBA a plus
  • 5-7 years of operations systems experience in a mid-size or large global public company
  • 5-7 years working knowledge of databases and experience with front-end reporting tools including Tableau
  • Experience working in an enterprise data warehouse environment
