What you will be doing
- Set up, operate, monitor, measure and troubleshoot various manufacturing machines in the production of optical lenses and/or components
- Measure key dimensions using varying measurement instruments to ensure parts are in spec
- Machines may include Single Point Diamond Turning CNC, Lens Molding, Slicing, Disc Polisher, etc.
- Make adjustments to equipment as needed to ensure best possible operating parameters
- Inspect final product to ensure quality of parts as defined by customer specifications
- Enter product related information into computer software system
- Opportunity may exist to work in High Purity Chemicals operation in the production of Germanium Tetrachloride and Germanium metal bars
Who we are looking for
- You have a high school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months experience and/or training or equivalent combination of education and experience
- You have CNC experience (a plus)
- You are proficient with computers
- You have experience with using and calibrating measurement instruments such as calipers and micrometers
- You are able to read and interpret drawings and blueprints
- You are able to stand, walk and reach
- You have finger/hand dexterity in order to handle small fragile parts
- You are able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- You are able to regularly be exposed to moving mechanical parts, toxic or caustic chemicals and occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles
