YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES
Summary of Job Purpose and Function
The Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for assisting and providing oversight to all operational functions at the branch including, but not limited to, safety, receiving, shipping logistics, blending, and packaging.
Essential Responsibilities and Tasks
• Directs, coordinates, and monitors operations activities pertaining to receiving, warehousing, storage, blending, packaging, and delivery of products, utilizing knowledge of products, procedures and capabilities of labor and equipment to maximize efficiencies.
• Manages support personnel in establishing operational standards, shipping and receiving logistics and safety objectives.
• Revises delivery schedules, receiving appointments and labor allocation as a result of customer demands, supplier issues, equipment problems and any other operational obstacles.
• Effectively and fairly administers discipline as necessary.
• Responsible for safety, health and environmental issues at the branch level.
• Monitors and coordinates disposition of non-conforming product, slow moving product and dead stock.
• Participates in customer site visits as needed.
• Responsible for training of branch operations employees and for overseeing training records compliance and maintenance.
• Responsible for determining the need for additional resources at the branch and communicating needs to Branch Manager, Operations Manager, and Regional Operations Manager.
• Responsible to ensure that all operational needs of the branch are met or reviewed for validity.
• Responsible to ensure that customers’ needs are met in a safe and timely manner.
• Responsible to ensure that all operations procedures are being followed.
• Responsible to ensure branch is being operated in a safe, efficient and secure manner.
• Participates and provides input for annual budget process as it pertains to operations expenses and capital expenditures.
YOUR PROFILE
• Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience, Education and/or Training
• High School Diploma or GED required. Associates Degree in related field preferred.
• 4+ years in a supervisory or management position within a chemical or industrial environment
• Knowledge of FDA, OSHA, EPA, DOT requirements and regulations.
