A) Trainee in the Analytics & Governance team within our Pricing & Natural Catastrophe modelling department
Main characteristics of the Graduate Trainee opportunity
- Length of employment on a fixed-term contract with Start date 1 August 2021 (or slightly earlier/later) – around 12 months
- Assignment and on-the-job training in Pricing and Natural Catastrophe Modelling
- Involvement and participation in relevant projects
- Appropriate internal off-the-job training and introduction to Reinsurance, network activities, etc.
We are looking for a highly qualified, motivated and enthusiastic young talent, interested to work in and contribute to the Analytics & Governance team within the P&C Pricing and Modelling department.
This team supports Natural catastrophe model research and development activities, governance processes in the P&C pricing and modelling department of SCOR, data science and analytics. During your traineeship, you will be assigned to specific tasks related to natural catastrophe models (e.g. development, documentation, reporting, solvency 2 compliance), the continued implementation of a documentation framework, application of data science techniques and development of tools for analytics. In your role as trainee you will therefore closely cooperate and interact with other departments and by this receive a broad understanding of various processes and projects within a truly global and the 4th largest Reinsurer worldwide.
Your Profile
- Above average University Degree (Master, PhD) in Actuarial Sciences, Natural science, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, Quantitative Finance or similar discipline)
- Excellent communication skills and command in English and preferably fluency in either French or German
- Global mind-set, team player attitude and appetite for continuous learning and achievements in an international context
- Proficiency with MS Excel and/or good knowledge through previous experience with statistical tools and/or good knowledge of some Natural Catastrophe vendor models
- Good conceptual and analytical capabilities plus being able to approach tasks consistently, goal-oriented and independently
