ACCOUNT MANAGER HEALTH & NUTRITION

Our team in Reading currently has an opening for a Account Manager Health & Nutrition

This role is responsible for supporting sales activities within an assigned territory by building rapport, creating opportunities, providing support, and growing the business on Brenntag’s complete product portfolio.  This individual will be responsible for understanding the value proposition for each product and producer, as well as promoting, understanding, and enabling the F&N brand position.  This role is expected to be able to provide basic product recommendations and discuss the features and benefits of those products.  This individual is ultimately responsible for the financial success of an assigned industry/territory with a focus on safely expanding sales and gross profit within their areas of responsibility.

YOUR ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities:

Opportunity Development

  • Works with customers to identify and pursue new opportunities
  • Schedules calls with customers
  • Ensures proper follow-up and sales cycle progression
  • Assists in the identification of new products or product lines to strengthen the existing product offerings to a defined category of customers throughout the geography (“selling the full portfolio”).
  • Acts as a liaison with the F&N technical team and lab to develop, manage, organize, and coordinate technical projects.
  • Engages other internal or supplier resources as appropriate to answer detailed technical questions.

Training

  • Schedules hands-on training with customers’ technical contacts
  • Conducts follow-up as necessary for retention and continual training improvement
  • Performs on-the-job training with technical team
  • Conducts in-house training with customers as necessary

Technical Support

  • Provides technical and commercial support to customers’ R&D
  • Resolves customer issues by investigating, developing solutions, and making recommendations alongside of the F&N lab team

Account Management

  • Maintains and develops accounts with priority of the top 20%.
  • Grows new and maintains existing accounts within industry and territory.
  • Prospects for new customers.
  • Develops technical expertise relative to strategic products and product lines.
  • Establishes plans for the retention, and subsequent growth, of customers directed to Brenntag Specialties from turnover programs with principals.
  • Understands and utilizes CRM.
  • Enters data into the CRM which includes, but is not limited to, market intelligence, competitor intelligence, sampling practices, call summaries, variance reports, growth pipeline, etc.
  • Achieves sales levels set forth by company to meet annual targets.
  • Achieves gross profit levels set forth to assure territory growth on an annual basis.
  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Proactively communicates with appropriate internal personnel/functions when issues arise.
  • Conducts market research.
  • Maintains presence with various industrial societies.

YOUR PROFILE

Other Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Works with Executive Management on organizational priorities, goals, and objectives
  • Participates in BNA and ROC Team monthly meetings and communicates activities for action/follow-up/execution as necessary
  • Ensures compliance with all company policies and all regulatory agencies, including but not limited to: Brenntag Code of
  • Business Conduct & Ethics, Antitrust Compliance Policy, Confidentiality Agreement, DOL, EEOC etc.
  • Supports the vision and mission of the company
  • Participates in product line expansion and development initiatives
  • Attends internal and external training sessions as necessary for continued development of product and industry knowledge

Other duties as assigned

  • Additional Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Self-motivated and task oriented
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree (preferably science-based) from four – year college or university; or commensurate of education and experience.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience in R&D/technical service and/or sales experience
