Accounts Manager

The Accounts manager will support the Finance Manager to manage the integrity of the financial statements, and delivery of all internal and external reporting.

The main purpose of the role is to ensure that the financial results are correctly accounted and reported by:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager with the monthly financial close process and reporting of results to senior management.
  • Supporting the Finance Manager control to facilitate a strong internal controls environment in the Scandinavian finance team along with review of controls in various other non-financial departments to achieve annual audit compliance.
  • Delivering monthly, quarterly and annual reporting schedules for both internal and external reporting purposes
  • Performing analysis that serve as basis for improving performance in the business
  • Management of cashflow forecasting and working with EMEA Treasury to ensure that all financing needs and funding targets are met.
  • Preparation and reviewing of monthly financials (incl. balance sheet reconciliations) and an on-going review of processes to identify any efficiency savings and control opportunities.
  • Coaching team members
  • Providing support and advise for other teams in the finance function on an ongoing basis.

The role will require the candidate to work with several cross-border stakeholders including finance teams UK, operational teams in Scandinavia as well as FP&A and EMEA accounting teams based in the Bracknell office.

 Key accountabilities

  • Monthly Financial Close process
  • Monthly & Quarterly reporting to UK/US
  • Supporting the internal and external audit
  • Participate in the production of Statutory accounts
  • Managing Financial Controls in team
  • Review Balance sheet reconciliations
  • Cash flow forecasting and reporting
  • Assisting with ad hoc local and EMEA projects
  • Review of VAT and Tax returns & compliance

 

Qualifications and skills

  • A university or college degree in Business administration/Finance or similar
  • Good communication skills in local language and English
  • Have an interest in building people management skills
  • Analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and wanting to make a difference, with a track record of achievement
  • Highly developed analytical, problem-solving, communication and influencing skills. Keen interest in a high-quality response to the function’s customers

 

Experience

  • 7 years of experience in Financial controls or auditing
  • Previous accounting experience with cash flow management, financial controls and month end reporting
  • Have either had people management experience or show great interest in this field
  • Analytical skills
  • Self-motivated and wanting to make a difference, with a track record of achievement
  • Strong IT and systems knowledge with advanced Excel skills and good experience of GL systems

 

Other

  • Knowledge of the Scandinavian languages.
  • US GAAP knowledge desired but not required.
