Analyst, Advisory Services

The Analyst will support the Manager, Healthcare Strategy & Research in monitoring Medical Office Portfolio affiliated hospitals and health systems and the healthcare industry.  The Healthcare Strategy & Research team serves as a resource for the Ventas Office team by providing accurate, meaningful and timely healthcare business and market intelligence to support the proactive oversight of the portfolio and optimize growth strategies.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and research Office portfolio asset affiliations, credit ratings and other key attributes

  • Analyze hospital and health system financials, operating performance and credit ratings

  • Research hospital markets and healthcare competitors

  • Utilize and contribute to development of proprietary analytic models

  • Become expert in industry research tools, such as Moody’s, S&P, and Definitive Healthcare

  • Participate in the preparation of hospital and health system reviews to provide insight for senior level management

  • Prepare routine and ad-hoc portfolio level hospital and health system reports and analyses for senior management

  • Monitor healthcare industry trends, policies, mergers and acquisitions and other activities that impact our business

  • Research relevant healthcare real estate topics as needed

  • Develop and prepare reports, presentations and other written materials

  • Assist with various analyses, special projects and presentations as needed

Qualifications

  • BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Real Estate, Healthcare Administration or related field

  • Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare industry, corporate strategy or finance

  • Familiarity with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows)

  • Experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources

  • High level of proficiency with Excel and modeling, previous experience in developing analyses on large databases

  • Detail oriented, ability to operate with a very high level of accuracy

  • Ability to work with many deadlines, time requirement conflicts, management pressures and ambiguity, within a fast-paced, team-oriented and lean environment

  • Strong written communication skills; solid presentation and speaking skills

  • Minimal travel required
