The Analyst will support the Manager, Healthcare Strategy & Research in monitoring Medical Office Portfolio affiliated hospitals and health systems and the healthcare industry. The Healthcare Strategy & Research team serves as a resource for the Ventas Office team by providing accurate, meaningful and timely healthcare business and market intelligence to support the proactive oversight of the portfolio and optimize growth strategies.
Responsibilities

Monitor and research Office portfolio asset affiliations, credit ratings and other key attributes

Analyze hospital and health system financials, operating performance and credit ratings

Research hospital markets and healthcare competitors

Utilize and contribute to development of proprietary analytic models

Become expert in industry research tools, such as Moody’s, S&P, and Definitive Healthcare

Participate in the preparation of hospital and health system reviews to provide insight for senior level management

Prepare routine and ad-hoc portfolio level hospital and health system reports and analyses for senior management
-
Monitor healthcare industry trends, policies, mergers and acquisitions and other activities that impact our business

Research relevant healthcare real estate topics as needed

Develop and prepare reports, presentations and other written materials

Assist with various analyses, special projects and presentations as needed
Qualifications
-
BA or BS degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering, Real Estate, Healthcare Administration or related field

Ideal candidate will have 2-4 years’ experience in healthcare consulting, healthcare industry, corporate strategy or finance

Familiarity with financial statements (Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flows)

Experience collecting and analyzing data from multiple sources

High level of proficiency with Excel and modeling, previous experience in developing analyses on large databases

Detail oriented, ability to operate with a very high level of accuracy

Ability to work with many deadlines, time requirement conflicts, management pressures and ambiguity, within a fast-paced, team-oriented and lean environment

Strong written communication skills; solid presentation and speaking skills

Minimal travel required
