The Wesfarmers Advanced Analytics Centre (AAC) is looking for a commercial and collaborative problem solver to work alongside our talented Data Scientists and Engineers to drive real business impact. Working at one of Australia’s largest listed companies, this role will have a unique opportunity to partner with our iconic retail and industrials brands including Bunnings, Kmart, Catch, Target, Officeworks and Blackwoods.
The AAC plays a key role in the Wesfarmers’ Group data and digital strategy and works closely with our businesses to help deliver advanced analytics solutions to improve customer experience and business performance.
Based in Melbourne, this full-time role will support the development of the AAC and our businesses’ data and analytics roadmap. In addition, you will be responsible for the agile delivery of advanced analytics use cases and strategic projects.
Working as part of a high performing advanced analytics team, your contributions to our team will include:
- Build a thorough understanding of our businesses and their relevant product or functional areas’ strategic needs;
- Establish strong and effective relationships with a range of both technical and senior business stakeholders;
- Identify potential use cases that will drive strategic business value;
- Partner with our businesses and analytics teams to clearly define and scope the business problem, analytical and data engineering approach and plan for end to end project delivery;
- Develop and lead a multi-disciplinary team to effectively deliver analytical solutions into production; and
- Effectively communicate recommendations, direction and progress to ensure alignment and engagement across the wider stakeholder group.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative related field (e.g. business, maths, economics, finance, statistics, science or engineering);
- Previous business analysis experience within a large, complex environment;
- Proven project management skills and ability to work effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders;
- Experience in big data analytics and technology is highly preferred;
- Ability to translate analytical and business findings into meaningful and actionable insights;
- A naturally inquisitive and analytical mind, and strong ability to problem solve;
- Exceptional communication, influencing and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate complex topics simply; and
- A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills.
