Applications Development Manager – CGT, Europe

Job Summary: This position works closely with Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) manufacturers in Europe including raw material providers who aid in the CGT process application, specification, and validation by introducing single-use connection technology into many of their applications. The ideal candidate will be a technical Subject Matter Expert in both upstream and downstream CGT processes in addition to having a strong sales acumen for identifying and developing opportunities within this market. The Candidate will work intimately and strategically with Cell and Gene Therapy end user customers including contract manufacturers while also being a technical resource for our specialty bio distributors and local OEM channel partners. This remote, home based position reports directly to the Director of Application & Business Development Manager. The other focus of this position will be to increase CPC connecter awareness in this market and position CPC’s brand mainly with drug and therapy providers and OEM equipment manufacturer.

 

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

• Work closely with the Global Business Develop Manager in CGT to promote CPC products in CGT market in Europe.

 

• Identify new companies that work in Cell and Gene therapy manufacturing.

• Identify and develop opportunities within Research companies, Universities, Cell and Gene Therapy providers and contract manufacturers accounts within Europe.

• Build strong relationships and networking with key end customers, influencers and channel partners.

• Conduct regular on-site product training and information sessions for Cell and Gene customers (End Users, OEM’s and Distributors).

• Manage key end user manufacturing accounts

• Develop strategies for penetration, expansion, and adoption of our products in all platforms in the end user network

• Work within a “Pull” strategy where we develop the specifications throughout the end user network where actual sales are pulled directly through our global channel partners and distribution.

• Be a strong technical resource for our specialty bio distributors, integrators and OEM’s.

• Be the face of the Cell and Gene Business Unit for CPC in Europe.

 

• Fully understand and effectively map the Cell and Gene manufacturing network within Europe including Bio companies who are also working in CGT.

 

• Provide visibility to where all CPC Bio connectors are being used in customer process.

• Work closely with other Europe and global CPC Bio personnel to aid in the management of key global accounts and share validation and application successes.

 

• Work with Product Management and the Business Development Manager to aid in VOC of customer needs and potential new technologies that can future grow CPC’s presence in the market.

• Leverage CRM to manage new customer accounts, opportunities, application details and large account management.

• Actively participate in regional CGT events and trade shows.

 

 

Required Education/Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Biology or related business, science or engineering degree (technical degree preferred)

• 5+ years working knowledge of biopharmaceutical and/or Cell and Gene therapy production processes with a focus on single-use technology.

 

 

Required Job Qualifications:

• Strong technical skills with a focus on Biology, microbiology, engineering process development and/or plastics.

• Understanding of Cell and Gene manufacturing process, both upstream and downstream, and how single-use benefits the overall process of clinical and cGMP production.

• Ability to deal effectively and professionally with all levels of the end user organizations from the operator all the way to upper management.

 

Ability to work with small startup companies as effectively as large organizations.

• Professional self-starter who thrives in working in an autonomous environment and actively looking for opportunities to grow the business.

 

• Ability to seek new business and customers in a competitive market.

• Must have strong time management skills

• A solid sales acumen, with ability to promote “value.”

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a customer centric mentality.

• Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from internal groups and external customers.

• Strong written and oral English communication skills

• Exceptional project management skills.

 

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• Demonstrated ability to manage and maintain formal programs for large account management.

• Experience with multiple channels of supply including distribution, integrators and OEM’s.

 

• Previous employment at a Bioprocessing or CGT manufacturer or single-use systems supplier.

• Understanding of ISO, GMP and other regulatory requirements.

• Experience with CRM programs.

• Ability to leverage social media
