To help drive our rapid growth, we are looking for a Regulatory/Approvals engineer on a permanent contract and based at our central Edinburgh office. Key responsibilities of the Approvals Engineer:
Create regulatory test plans for new products and product enhancements/changes
Source regulatory testing
Advise R&D on required supporting firmware
Support test labs as they execute test plan
Communicate with TCBs to gain FCC/IC grants
Create and maintain Technical Files and Declarations of Conformity
Create regulatory wording for user documentation, for worldwide shipment
Monitor upcoming regulatory changes and plan timely updates
Interface to corporate Motorola Solutions regulatory teams
Key qualifications, skills and knowledge of the Approvals Engineer:
Required Skills:
Australia/New Zealand differences and special requirements
Good understanding of rest of world regulatory approval requirements
EN 62133, UN38.3 battery safety
EN 62368 product safety
Power supply regulations in various countries (not just safety, efficiency too)
UL Safety
Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
5 years’ experience in regulatory/approvals within the electronics R&D environment
Experience of prioritising and managing time between multiple projects
Excellent spoken and written communication skills
Proactive, self-motivated and well organised, both individually and as part of a team
Desired Skills:
RoHS, REACH, Prop65
CEC (California Energy Efficiency) requirements and other regional energy standards
