Martin Marietta Magnesia Specialties, LLC, a leading manufacturer of magnesia chemical products and applications, seeks a high-energy, independent, self-driven salesperson to manage the Central Region of the United States.
Position Summary
- Key responsibilities of the position include: assisting in the development and execution of a strategic marketing plan for sustained long-term growth
- Contribute to the development of pricing strategy for the market area and overseeing customer sales, budgeting, forecasting, and timely account summary reporting
- The candidate must have proven success in: development and implementation of strategic sales plans, account management of a diverse customer base, pricing strategies, Region profitability, and new business growth
- Maintain continuous contact with operations as to material availability and product needs
- Manage major accounts and contracts, including development of business growth and maintenance strategies
- Develop yearly sales budgets based on market intelligence acquired through customer interaction, and market data
- Preferred region is the Illinois/Indiana area, with willingness to travel up to 50% of the time
Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science (or higher) degree in Business Management, Science/Engineering or related field
- Five (5) years or more of sales management experience with a preferred focus on food markets and industrial sectors including but not limited to water treatment, environmental and chemical compound applications
- Proven sales growth, negotiation, and customer service skills; demonstrated capacity to develop rational pricing strategies and sales forecasting
- Account management skills and experience in customer relationship management
- Ability to manage a distribution network
- Experience negotiating supply contracts with customers
- Successful new business development history
- Excellent written (email and concise report writing) and verbal communications skills
- Microsoft platform experience is required (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) – Experience with IS systems (Cognos, Kronos, CRM, etc.)
- Analytical skills for profit/loss decision making; Sales/budget planning skills
- Highly organized with administrative skills for timekeeping, monthly reporting, etc. is required
