Corteva Agriscience’s Utica, IL production location is seeking an Area Team Lead to lead a staff of production employees and coordinate the internal and the external resources to ensure a safe and smooth operation of product manufacturing.

Responsibilities – What You Will Do:

- Maintain standards in the areas of housekeeping, safety, attendance, operational discipline, process, safety management, and scheduled and unscheduled maintenance. Responsible for communications up and down the line and for assuring that communications from team members are accurate and complete.
- Support the oversight of harvest, receiving, bulk load out, conditioning, bagging, and warehousing operation to maximize material flow and process efficiencies.
- Monitor and ensure adherence to standard work.
- Monitor product quality and ensure activities meet the requirements of the Quality Plan.
- Become knowledgeable of the process order process.
- Ensure direct materials are staged for next process order (tags, bags, boxes, treatment, etc.).
- Assist in managing bulk and bagged seed inventories.
- Assist with product movement activities.
- Ensure operator Preventative Maintenance is completed.
- Support forward plans for oncoming shift.
- Ensure availability of equipment and materials.
- Provide input and assistance to supervisor when planning capital or focus improvement projects.
- Provide input for workforce planning and development scheduling.
- Ensure appropriate records, documents, or reports are completed as assigned.
- Support continuous improvement and special projects as assigned.
- Will work as Production Technician as directed.
- Will assume the duty of the Shift Supervisor for the shift in their absence.
- Support the adherence to safety, quality, and site policies.
During peak season (September-March) this plant runs a 16/5 schedule based on demand. Shift hours can be 8 to 12 hours depending on which schedule is utilized and overtime may be required.
Qualifications
Requirements – Who You Are:
What expertise have you grown? What do you bring to the table?
- You have a high School Diploma/GED.
- You have 2-4+ years of on the job related manufacturing, operations, production, agricultural, or related experience.
- You have good communication & interpersonal skills.
- You are able to lift 50lbs, work in elevated areas, and with repetitive motion with or without reasonable accommodation.
- You are knowledge of computer use such as Microsoft Office and other software programs.
- You are willing and able to work overtime nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
- You are willing and able to work in a variety of environments including indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, dry, humid, and dusty conditions.
Preferences:
- Supervisory experience across multiple production processes and leadership skills.
- Experience with SAP or equivalent Manufacturing Operations software.
- Forklift operations and/or willingness to learn.
- Experience with LEAN Manufacturing operations and projects.
- Experience with problem solving and implementation of solutions and corrective actions.
