Interested in Accounting? Our Corporate Accounting team is seeking a self-driven, highly Motivated intermediate Associate Accountant to join Eversource and be a part of our mission to deliver reliable energy and superior customer service. ENERGY- BRINGS US TOGETHER!!

Essential Functions

• Assists with the day-to-day operations of the Eversource accounting function
• Handles monthly, quarterly and annual financial closing processes
• Preparation of regulatory/compliance filings
• Preparation of ad hoc analyses for rate cases or other special projects
• Prepares journal entries, reconciles general ledger accounts and analyzes variances
• Coordination of specific activities with internal and external auditors
• Investigates and resolves outstanding items

Qualifications

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

• Basic problem-solving skills and attention-to-detail
• Strong quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
• Works well on a team
• Knowledge of accounting principles
• Familiarity with large accounting systems
• knowledge/experience with NU’s PowerPlan and Oracle eBS system is preferred
• Strong knowledge of standard office computer software (e.g., Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business, finance or a related degree required
• Master’s Degree in a business-related field or a CPA certificate preferred. 

Experience:

• One (1) year of experience preferably in corporate and/or public accounting environment
• Accounting internship(s) is a plus
• Ability to work effectively with different levels of the organization
