Job Description
Key Purpose:
The purpose of this role is the delivery of automation projects within the Plant of the Future program for the UK&I, Benelux, DACH and CEE regions.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure all projects and associated processes within the scope of responsibility are carried out to the highest standards of Zero Harm and in compliance with all local and regional safety and environmental procedures and legislation
Ensure CHEP Process Engineering standards and procedures are applied in each project.
Lead project teams, develop project plans and assign tasks as required to complete projects
Review and approve all specifications and request for quotations required for the projects
Along with Operations team and Cost Optimisation manager ensure accurate business case is built and meets required financial KPI’s for approval.
Ensure all Capex approval documentation is compiled and reviewed correctly and manage timely submission and approval process.
With the support of Change Management lead ensure the change management process takes place at project sites prior to installation.
Review and approve any changes effecting cost or scope within approval limits. Manage and track all cost associated with the projects and lead any resubmission for additional funding if required
Support third party subcontractor-invested projects, ensuring standard layouts and processes are specified and that Sub Contractor is supported in the installation and qualification of equipment
Lead and manage Factory Acceptance Testing at the suppliers and ensure all criteria are met prior to shipment to site.
Manage installation of equipment on site ensuring all local regulations and Health and Safety Legislation is adhered to.
Ensure all required metrics and measures are in place and tested to enable monitoring of Verification period
Ensure all training and technology transfer process are completed to allow site to safely and effectively run equipment.
Work with wider Plant of the Future Team and Process Engineering teams to improve designs and innovation required for continues improvement of the automation program.
Experience and Skills:
Experience of engineering management (development, implementation and management of projects)
Expertise in Project management for industrial projects implementation in plants
Industrial Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (preferable materials handling or FMCG manufacturing)
Supervisory and Management Skills
Knowledge of the Budgeting (control) and CAPEX process
Knowledge of OEE and reliability systems and Continuous improvement tools
CQV Process
AutoCAD for layout and machinery design
PLC programming knowledge
