We are seeking a full-time Aviation Test Software Engineer at our world headquarters in Olathe, Kansas. In this role, you will be responsible for developing test software for Garmin’s communication and navigation products in a team-oriented environment. You will also work closely with electrical, software, and test engineers to define test requirements and procedures that will be used to confirm that newly produced Garmin products meet minimum performance standards. Other essential functions include:
- Develop test software in C, C++, TestStand, or other selected languages in accordance with Garmin’s software development methodology to test the performance and functionality of Garmin’s communication and navigation products
- Support production personnel in introducing new test software and equipment to production
- Perform maintenance and support activities for test software already in use
Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Math or Physics or a technical field relevant to the essential functions of this job description from a four-year college or university AND a minimum of 1 year relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
Other requirements include:
- Must possess experience and/or training in high level computer languages such as C/C++ and scripting languages relevant to Garmin’s business needs
- Must possess relevant experience and/or training in data structures or object oriented design methodology relevant to Garmin’s business needs
- Must possess relevant education and/or experience in software design, development and maintenance, as required for the successful performance of the essential functions of the position
- Relevant experience in C/C++, TestStand and training in GPIB/IEEE interfaces with test equipment is highly preferred!
