Overview
The Sales Specialist ddPCR supports sales into BioPharma accounts defined in the annual plan. The typical product portfolio includes instrumentation and reagents for ddPCR and genomic analysis (i.e., qPCR), but knowledge of Proteomic and Cell Biology applications/products will be needed to present all solutions available in the Bio-Rad portfolio. The sales process is consultative and requires deep product and application knowledge. The Sales Specialist ddPCR supports the Biopharma Account managers in pre / post-sales activities by leveraging her/his technical expertise in the designated product area. The Sales Specialist will also perform customer trainings in designated product area (hardware / software / applications) to help drive customer confidence / product adoption and usage.
The primary goals of this role are to
support the health of the team’s sales pipeline as a product expert by performing customer-facing / virtual technical presentations / Lunch-and-Learns, demos etc.
support the sales process and ensure customer satisfaction via training events post system installation
ensure regular instrument usage leading to a continuous flow of consumables
identify additional areas (applications) to expand and develop business within the Pharma/Biopharma segment
communicate key product / market insights to leadership, local marketing and the division
Develop KOL relationships
Responsibilities
Sales Responsibilities
Supporting the Biopharma Account Managers in the acquisition of new customers in biopharmaceutical, biotech, and other industrial customers linked to pharma by prospecting, qualifying and following up on leads / customer inquiries
Support lead generation and sales activities by the Biopharma Account Managers pharma.
Facilitation / organization of scientific discussions between customers and other decision makers and stakeholders
Maintaining and developing existing customer relationships
Developing go to market strategies for new products or new application areas
Doing customer visits, sales campaigns and road shows together with/without Biopharma Account Managers and/or others
Attending exhibitions and trade shows / present as needed
Reporting Responsibilities
Maintain the installed base report on Pharma market
Help Biopharma Account Managers to maintain customer and sales project data in CRM system
Provide relevant market information about customer needs, and market trends as requested
Qualifications
Preferred education is a Ph.D. in life sciences with experience as described above
Technical background in flow cytometry, molecular biology, immunology or a related field
Excellent written and oral communication abilities in English, with detail & results orientation, determination, self-motivation, flexibility, enthusiasm, good presentation skills in front of various audiences
Minimum 3 years life science laboratory experience, with molecular biology, biochemistry and Genomic/Gene expression analysis (Sequencing, quantification, amplification….) including digital PCR & qPCR
2+ years of commercial experience in a sales / technical role that had a primary focus on biopharma and specifically customers working in Gene and Cell Therapy, oncology, vaccines etc. both in R&D and regulated environments
Knowledge / experience with 21CFR11, EMA Annex 11, GMP, Data Integrity requirements etc.
Independent project management skills, effective organizational and time management skills
Full clean driving license
Available for domestic and/or international travel of up to 50%
