There are more than 500 million smallholder farms globally. 2.5 billion people depend on Smallholder Communities for their food and livelihoods. Smallholder regions are characterized by low living standards, high rates of illiteracy and low agricultural productivity. Yara’s mission is “Responsibly Feed the World and Protect the Planet”. Key to achieving this is enabling thriving Smallholder Communities. At Yara, the Smallholders Digital Team is part of the Crop and Digital Solutions Unit.
About Crop and Digital Solutions
Yara aims to be the crop nutrition company for the future and is leading the development of sustainable agriculture and digital tools to contribute to solving global agricultural challenges. We have a worldwide presence with sales teams in ~150 countries and around 17,000 employees. Yara Farming Solutions, will lead the transformation towards more sustainable and efficient food production, by innovating our offerings and the way we work. Crop and Digital Solutions is responsible developing and scaling new “on-farm” digital and integrated tools and solutions for an efficient and transparent food system.
Responsibilities
- Take responsibility for the growth, operations and readiness of the hub and the people within it.
- Handle immediate and tactical requirements as needed, as well as identify any mid to long term needs of additional functional support needed with suggestion of structures/processes/relationships should be put in place as support from operation standpoint.
- Act as point of contact for the Central Functions and disciplines overlapping with the above-mentioned responsible areas, supporting the teams in various areas as required.
- Resources management within operation team as well as ensure provision of sufficient functional supports to the overall wellbeing of entire organisation.
- Cooperate with HR in the strategic onboarding of new employees ( hub intro, and an intro to all solutions). Represent the Hub in front of external visitors and business partners
Profile
- Past experience overseeing a dynamic, complex environment of a quickly growing team or organisation. Prior management experience of teams of at least 2 people.
- Past experience managing the day-to-day operations of a hub / technology centre and in at least one of these fields: office management, administration, indirect procurement, business operations, safety and wellness, contracts management.
- Ability to own the end to end resolution of items including report concisely, accurately and promptly on meetings and matters of relevance and escalating to get resolution if needed.
- Strong personal interest in the agriculture and technology space and an interest in learning and exploring new things.
- Strong focus on stakeholder management and collaboration across multiple internal and external teams
