Position Overview

The Buyer Experience Product Engagement role is tasked with identifying and driving opportunities to improve the mobile and on-site experience for Buyer Experience propositions (Search frontend, search science, item pages etc.) across our European sites. These opportunities are a key input to the global product teams who design and build the on-site experience.

The primary goals of the role are to drive overall revenue for the EU business by improving the conversion of visitors to purchases, increasing the acquisition and retention of users new to eBay and improving the customer satisfaction associated with the overall Buyer Experience.

The role reports into the wider Buyer Experience & Verticals Product Engagement team which has responsibility for leading the EU direction of all buyer facing elements of the eBay user experience.

Responsibilities

  • Collate and interpret insight from numerous sources across the business. This will include UER, market research, onsite analytics, AB test results and competitor analysis. Using this information you will build an understanding of the issues our users are facing on the European eBay sites, primarily UK and Germany
  • Engage with regional stakeholders to capture business requirements, value propositions and customer problems
  • Leverage these insights to identify opportunities for improvements that can drive business growth
  • Partner closely with the global product teams to ensure that the roadmap addresses regional needs and to develop solutions for any regional issues or opportunities found
  • Work with stakeholders across many internal teams to support changes to the overall Buyer Experience requested by the wider business

About you

  • Strong customer focus and an ability to take a customer-led approach to decision making
  • Excellent industry knowledge regarding the digital Buyer Experience (search frontend, search science, landing pages, item pages etc.)
  • Comfort in dealing with qualitative and quantitative data, coupled with ability to cut through complexity to get operational results
  • Good understanding of user-centered product design
  • A natural communicator and influencer, particularly with international/ remote teams
  • Ability to grasp complex technical/business concepts and express them to others in a simple, clear language
  • Comfort in taking decisions in ambiguous situations based on the best available data
  • Able to work collaboratively with a range of teams and working styles
  • Great project management skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to bring energy and optimism to the team and role
  • Happy to pitch in and help execute to drive the business
