What you will be doing

As our Chemical Production Operator, you will be responsible for manufacturing, packaging, and labelling bulk industrial chemicals. Specifically, this will include:

  • Reviewing batch sheets or instructions;
  • Weighing and staging chemicals for mixing or reacting;
  • Preparing chemicals for manufacturing and starting the manufacturing process;
  • Continually observing and monitoring reactions and mixtures according to written procedure, monitoring mixers, pumps, valves, filters, gauges, and acid metering equipment on a regular basis;
  • Controlling the reactions and mixtures, adjusting equipment or making additions as necessary for desired outcome, and documenting actions taken;
  • Performing quality control tests and making adjustments as needed;
  • Filling totes or other required packaging; and,
  • Labelling product as required.

 

 

Who we are looking for

Our success is based on individuals who are ready to make the most of their skills and prepared to tackle any challenges they face.  As well as your high school diploma or GED, you should have solid math skills, the ability to periodically lift up to 70 lbs, and the ability to wear a respirator.  You should also have experience working in an industrial setting or experience working with chemicals in a production environment.   Plating and wastewater experience would be helpful with knowledge of filtration, HMI screens and wastewater treatment equipment. We’ll also be looking for forklift experience or the ability to learn.

Additional information

This position is located at the Palm Commodities International, LLC facility in LaVergne, TN.  The facility is a Drug-Free Workplace, and pre-employment drug testing is a prerequisite to hiring.
