Chief Engineer– Embedded Software and Systems Architecture & Tools,you’ll be responsible for leading, managing and supporting Systems and Software architecture and Engineering tools for the global Software Factory. You’ll work in collaboration with all functions across Advanced Safety & User Experience to drive the development and execution of Aptiv’s reusable Systems and Software architecture.
You will be creating a global homeroom for Systems and Software architecture and serving as the interface between the global Engineering community and Global Software Services (GSS) for Engineering tools:
Your role:
- Establish roadmap of future development, new technologies, etc.
- Drive continuous improvement of strategy and method based on lessons learned
- Organize and manage the specific process area
- Manage and coordinate the strategy and methods for the global organization
- Organize and coordinate definitions of tools that facilitate execution of processes and methods
- Drive definition of useful and used processes and methods that successfully achieve their intended purpose
- Evaluate Engineering tools and make recommendations on improvements that will help program execution and increase visibility in reporting
- Interface with program teams to gather feedback and serve as the “voice of the customer” for Engineering tool development
- Manage the development of the Software Factory visualizations
- Manage the KPI definition and development for Software RENEO dashboards
- Managing execution and delivery of special projects as assigned.
Your background:
The role combines multiple skills and competencies including program management, customer development, technical problem solving and executive level communication skills to ensure success.
Executive presence, adaptability and the ability to abstract or draw connections across seemingly disparate concepts/examples are critical.
Basic Qualifications:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related discipline
- 7+ years of experience in an influential leadership position
- 3+ years of experience in managing complex projects involving various competencies and stakeholders
Preferred:
- Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related discipline preferred.
- Excellent written, presentation and verbal communication skills.
- Strong leadership qualifications; ability to create a team and drive towards a common goal.
- Self-driven, detail oriented and well organized.
- Desire to learn and ability to learn quickly.
- Highly dependable with a strong work ethic.
