Clinical Project Manager (Trial Retention)

The Job
In this position as Scientific Recruitment & Retention Project Manager you will be responsible for driving and managing scientific recruitment and retention (SRR) activities for selected trials within the UK in accordance with the Company’s policies and procedures, SOPs and relevant regulations, to ensure business targets are achieved efficiently and effectively.

This involves the management and coordination of SRR activities, initiatives and projects across outcome and other assigned trials including development of cross-trial initiatives in collaboration with the Trial Managers to ensure best practice sharing and continuity; working with Legal and Compliance to ensure adherence to all relevant SOPs and codes of conduct.

You will liaise with the Local Trial Managers, National Leaders/ Study Co-ordinator’s and Regional Medical Advisors to ensure that recruitment and retention activities are carried out, and targeted to, the specific needs of the trial.

You will prepare and manage the recruitment and retention trial budget and manage activities that support recruitment and retention such as organising local meetings, expert panels and coordinating workshops. You will work as a team to identify National Leaders and Study Co-ordinators and be responsible for contract negotiations and signatories for these roles. You will build strong relationships with these stakeholders to facilitate their assistance in helping other study sites with their recruitment and retention.

In addition, you will be the local study manager and primary contact for CRO’s for outsourced Real-World Evidence Studies.

The Department
The UK Clinical Development Centre (CDC) comprises approximately 65 people based in our Gatwick office and in field-based positions. The team is responsible for the broad scope of clinical trials across all phases and therapeutic areas for the Novo Nordisk development pipeline in the UK.

The clinical research team is part of the wider Clinical, Medical and Regulatory (CMR) organisation of 140 people including Medical Affairs, Regulatory, Safety, Medical Information, Projects & Operations.

Qualifications
Ideally you will be educated to degree level or equivalent, preferably within life sciences. You will have a proven track record of working within the pharmaceutical sector with demonstrable experience of driving and managing multiple, complex projects. Strong IT and budget management skills are required in this position.

Typically, your experience will have been gained within a clinical or medical role with a good understanding of clinical trial operations, however you may have worked within the commercial side of the industry and have excellent transferable skills.

Experience of organising high-quality meetings or external panels/groups, in close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external Health Care Professionals (HCPs) or Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs) is essential.
