Cloud Engineer – Data and Analytics
The Admiral Group is a multinational financial services provider, where data and technology are key to our success. We have an opportunity for an experienced Cloud Engineer to contribute to the development of a variety applications within one of our data and analytics teams.
You will work within the Data and Analytics team comprised of Developers, Engineers, Analysts and Data Scientists whose primary focus is to design and develop innovative technology solutions for a variety of internal stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an engineer to work within Data and Analytics tribe which helps shape the future of how data is processed in Admiral for years to come. You will work with a team dedicated to developing pipelines and cloud infrastructure to source and process data within the Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
As we work within the Scaled Agile framework, we are looking for someone who can work both independently and as part of a team within a fast-paced and changing environment. This requires an individual who can deliver to agreed timelines, communicating effectively and thinking innovatively.
Responsibilities
As part of a multi-discipline team challenged with building a cloud data platform, you will be responsible for contributing to the development of a variety of service and applications by providing engineering support to developers. This will include:

- Aid in the design and development of systems and application in the cloud.
- Supporting the deployment and maintenance of cloud infrastructure.
- Producing applicable technical documentation.
- Managing cloud environments in accordance with company security guidelines
- Assist in troubleshooting of Cloud infrastructure and application issues
You will also be expected to keep your skills up to date by following advancements in the field and researching new and innovative technologies and techniques.
Skills And Experience

- Awareness of working in an Agile environment
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) is ideal, but experience of a Cloud based virtualisation area is essential.
- Working knowledge and experience with Terraform to build and maintain the platform and the environment.
- Experience using and developing CI/CD pipelines (preferably using Azure DevOps).
- Ability to communicate effectively to a variety of audiences including both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Experience and Strong understanding of Identity and Access Management.
Desirable Skills And Experience

- Programming experience with either Java or Python
- Scripting experience
- Experience working with command line in Linux, windows Powershell, bash
- Knowledge on networking and firewalls
- Experience with Azure DevOps to deploy pipelines and store repositories
