What is a Cloud Strategic Architect responsible for?
- The Cloud team focuses on solving complex challenges and helping customers using public, private, and hybrid cloud platforms. The Strategic Solutions Architect will work in a challenging, fast paced, and highly technical environment. The role will be responsible for internal customer facing engagements and have a strong technical background to ensure project success by using experience and knowledge to apply modern design.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of Cloud Strategic Architect?
- The Strategic Solutions Architect is responsible for the cloud technology and architecture for business and technology domains. The role develops strong partnerships with business to ensure alignment of technology with business objectives and strategy, which includes:
- Participating in strategic business planning.
- Influencing and understanding business architecture.
- Championing technology strategy and architectures.
- Acting as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) around public, private and hybrid cloud technologies.
- Applies knowledge and expertise as consultants to Executive staff and cross-functional teams from the business and technology groups.
- Expert level experience and knowledge with AWS and Azure Cloud Services – leading design and architecture sessions with stakeholders.
- Performs a lead role in architecture for cloud and application teams, ensure all detailed diagrams are created while engaging with teams, capturing requirements, and guiding all design elements.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and advancements within existing technologies.
- Support the cloud and application team efforts by providing solutions and technical expertise and workflow assessment to end-user customers.
- Provides leadership and mentoring to Architects and engineers to grow architecture talent.
What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?
- Experience working in team-oriented, collaborative environment and with teams spread across multiple locations across multiple time zones.
- Must possess excellent documentation skills.
- Self-motivated, directed and with keen attention to detail.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills as well as strong logical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Experience designing and building application environments in on premise, AWS, and Azure.
- Strong understanding and knowledge of AWS Services with a modern design and multi-region scale out design.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies and implementing them to DevOps practices.
- Experience with cloud diagramming tools for architecture and design.
- Experience in design, planning, and migration to AWS preferred and Azure is a plus.
- At least 10+ years of experience in design and architecture around Private, Public & Hybrid Cloud Technologies
- Experience with using cloud platforms, specifically AWS.
- Must understand Public, Private, & Hybrid Cloud Strategies.
- Prior experience leading large enterprise deployments is a plus.
- Experience and working knowledge of Virtualization, Networking, Data Center, and Security.
- Relevant and active Cloud Certifications are preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to articulate technology concepts to business leaders and engineers.
