Community Partnerships Coordinator

Are you a self-starter with a proven history of building and improving upon positive relationships with Indigenous Nations, communities, and organizations?

We are seeking a Community Partnerships Coordinator to support building positive relationships with First Nations and communities where the company operates. Reporting to the Community Partnerships Director, the role would involve arranging community events and meetings, coordinating corporate initiatives, as well as assisting with the implementation of Partnership agreements.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate potential capacity building and community engagement opportunities.
  • Mentor other employees in First Nations culture.
  • Support and lead negotiations.
  • ensure agreements are being properly administered.
  • co-ordinate and support implementation of engagement initiatives to ensure effective and consistent approach.
  • evaluate strategic communication and engagement outcomes, as well as success and learnings and provide options for follow up and next steps.

Qualifications & Experience

The ideal candidate would have a Bachelor’s degree in Communications or cultural relations, with at least 5 years’ experience in a similar role.

Direct experience with coastal BC indigenous communities and knowledge of the Aquaculture industry is a definite asset.

  • Aquaculture industry knowledge is an asset.
  • Proficient computer skills – Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Be an engaging, dynamic person with excellent writing skills.
  • Able to organize time effectively, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
