Basic Requirements: Five years of recent verifiable experience in Community Relations, Public Outreach, or Advocacy.

Bachelor’s Degree in Public Relations or similar field from an accredited college or university

Strong platform skills for public speaking, professional presentations and community interactions

Excellent computer skills to include Microsoft suite, Power Point, and Excel

Experience in working with large groups and taking a leadership role exemplifying above average team participation and team development skills

Position Scope: Under general supervision, plans and executes logistics for select community meetings, outreach, and education for IPL’s Transmission Distribution System Improvement Charge (TDSIC) project. Responsible for building and managing alliances both personally and with staff while providing information and assistance to civic, minority, business, neighborhood and consumer organizations as well as schools, the news media and local units of government. Position should also maintain a working knowledge of Company policies, operations and positions on issues.
Primary Responsibilities:

Coordinates and executes community meetings, customer outreach and education specific to TDSIC

Builds alliances with various community, civic, minority, and neighborhood groups

Coordinates IPL information and community relations programs directed toward civic, minority, business, school, neighborhood and consumer organizations

Makes presentations specific to TDSIC to various organizations; represents the Company at various civic and community meetings and activities

Responds to inquiries about Company operations or policies specific to TDSIC

Plans, develops and arranges for IPL displays for TDSIC and staffing at various community meetings, conventions and conferences
