We’re looking for a Connectivity Architect to join us in our Schiphol-Rijk or Reading office.

As Connectivity Architect, you will be reporting directly into the Connectivity Architecture Lead. In this role you will be part of Liberty Global’s connectivity group and you will help building a transformative Pan European architecture, underpinning a future proof ecosystem which provides carrier-class in-home and out-of-home connectivity experience.

The Connectivity department, part of Liberty Global’s T&I (Technology & Innovation) organization, has responsibility to drive technology change across Liberty Global’s operating companies spanning multiple countries around the world. The Connectivity function responsibilities include the plan, design and build of E2E service Architectures and Technology selection support for specific technology areas.

You will be joining a highly motivated and innovative technical team dedicated to delivering market-leading ecosystem & products to our 26 million subscribers using broadband, video, fixed and mobile telephony services across our brands.

We are looking for an E2E Architect or Solution Architect who’s a subject matter expert in the areas of App/Web based development, Micro-Services, Cloud based solutions, Smart Homes and IoT integration with a Technical Delivery mind set and comfortable owning end-to-end system integration.

Which LG deliverables would you be working on?

LG’s consumer connectivity eco system is dependent on a growing it’s back office cloud components.

  • In-Home, we have a multi AP mesh solution, dependent on backend cloud platforms to drive our carrier class Wi-Fi in every room initiative. Our centralized Pan-European architecture supports all operating countries within the Liberty family. We place Wi-Fi management capability and smarts in the hands of end users via our Connectivity App, using backend device management via TR-69, Radio Resource, and Parental Controls / Security capability.
  • Out-of-Home, we have the Community Wi-Fi components including Wireless Access Gateways, RADIUS platforms, LDAP, Analytics DBs and Reporting tools, underpinning a growing footprint of 10m home spots across the group.

In-Home
Building on Liberty Global’s successful Mercury family of Wi-Fi Gateways, PLC APs and Wi-Fi Mesh APs, the connectivity platforms have growing importance which is critical to LG’s product roadmap, in terms of:

  • Device Management, exposing multi AP capability via cloud interfaces to iOS / Android Apps, Web Apps and micros-service API’s.
  • Parental Controls / Security, also through AI / ML, intelligently applying parental & security policy, using profiles, dealing with IoT, and providing customers events / insights, ultimately growing the customer user experience.

Out-of-Home

Liberty Global’s Community Wi-Fi and C-App; the focus is on enhancing the out-home Wi-Fi experience, by improving the connectivity UX, and increasing Wi-Fi coverage through global roaming partnerships.
