The Corporate Affairs Communications/Engagement Analyst will support developing and implementing strategic engagements with the Public Policy and Government Affairs (PPGA) team’s external partners and stakeholders, including state and federal officials, and business and regulatory agencies. The analyst will also develop and communicate with stakeholders how applicable government regulations, policies and actions and can potentially impact the company, and partner with cross-functional teams to pursue target communications opportunities. Will also help to develop new projects and work to promote a favorable business environment that enables growth.

This role represents PepsiCo’s business / policy objectives and amplifies the company’s corporate narrative at events and in meetings with stakeholders.

Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

PPGA Communications
Co-manage PPGA website
Draft content for PPGA twitter handle, collaborate with corporate social media team
Create and post PPGA yammer stories
Support developing infographics that tell the PepsiCo story
Write and schedule quarterly newsletters & end of year letter
Maintain newsletter mailing list
Create recap docs for federal fly-ins and company volunteer days
Send email blasts to share PEP updates and maintain the response tracker
Lead trade association amplification efforts (#CPGgivesback social media initiative with CBA, ABA every bottle back amplification and COVID letters on PEPfeed, etc)
External Affairs
Collaborate on External Affairs projects: mini-grants, social justice, convention planning, fellowship sponsorships, etc.
Manage external partner activations (local events, PepsiCo-sponsored events, etc.)
Execute sponsor benefits including logo agreements, advertisements, product donations, etc.
Manage guest list for events/dinners (send invitations, keep updated rsvp list, update events coordinators)
Refer to PBC business leaders on local engagement opportunities
Support DC-based CBC/CHCI/APAICS/WCPI fellow engagement
Federal Affairs
Coordinate meetings on hill/ tours in plants (MFG day, new members, etc)
Manage collateral for congressional meetings
Create state/district one-pagers based on the office PEP is meeting
Manage communications collateral on PEP focused lobbying topics
Manage PAC donation administration (polling the board, cutting the checks, sending documents, managing files, etc.)
Manage product for events (backpacks for good, sports games, rolling roadster, etc)
Send emails blasts to Capitol Hill on relevant PEP updates and upkeep the response tracker
Support Congressional Hunger Center fellow engagement
Support events with PEP executives and members/Congressional staff
State/Local Affairs
Track local community engagement
Consultants reports
Compendium/Donation tracker
Assist with community service: Washington Football Team, Rolling Remembrance, Rise Against Hunger, etc.
Send targeted emails to state/local legislators on PEP updates and maintain the response tracker
Track trade association spending/engagement annually for website updates
Qualifications/Requirements
Qualifications/Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Minimum of 3 years of experience in public policy/ government affairs
Exceptional written communication skills
Passion and interest in public policy and government affairs
Ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadline with minimal supervision
General knowledge of global public policy issues, trends, and business challenges with strong preference for candidates with experience and knowledge of agriculture, human rights and/or supply chain issues
Ability to translate public policy issues for different audiences (e.g., executives, business, external stakeholders)
Critical attention to detail
Strong research skills
Ability to collaborate with all levels of an organization in support of defined objectives
Experience working with global offices and as part of a matrixed organization
Working knowledge of U.S. politics and key DC-based stakeholders (e.g., Councils, think tanks)
Skilled or willing to learn: Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, InDesign
