Division Overview:

 

Crown’s Beverage Division manufactures a variety of packaging solutions for soft drinks, craft beers, coffees and teas as well as new energy drinks. Position Overview:

 

The Cost Accountant is responsible for overseeing and analyzing cost expenditures and purchases within the Plant.

 

 

 

Duties And Responsibilities:

 

Reporting directly to the Plant Accountant, the Cost Accountant responsibilities would include, but not be limited to, the following:

 

Capture the Plant’s total cost of production by assessing the variable costs of each step of production as well as fixed cost

Classify costs accurately

Compiles and analyzes financial information and makes recommendations about cost efficient and financially feasible cost options

Analyze costs of raw materials and other supplies and create cost-benefit analyses for changing vendors

Assist with annual physical inventory

Assist the Plant Accountant with suggesting changes to policies or procedures to increase cash flow

Assists in preparation for internal and external audits

Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned

 

 

 

 

Job Requirements

Qualifications:

 

In addition to the specific responsibilities listed above, the ideal candidate will possess the following:

 

Minimum Requirements

 

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance

Solid understanding of accounting concepts and GAAP

Proven track record of working in a team environment with a variety of departments

Experience working with an ERP system

Three (3) years Plant Manufacturing experience

Approximately 10% overnight travel

May occasionally need to work evening or weekend hours

Preferred Requirements

 

Packaging industry experience

AS400 experience

Competencies

 

Must have very strong PC skills with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word & Excel (advanced)

Must be self-directed, have excellent initiative and organizational skills.

Ability to handle multiple demands with a sense of urgency, drive and energy

Position requires someone who is self-motivated, analytical problem solver and has excellent communication skills

Strong organizational skills

Strong written and verbal skills

Strong work ethic with ability to work with little supervision

Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines, ensuring completion

 

 

Physical Requirements

 

While performing the duties of this job, the associate is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands, reach with hands and arms, and may be required to balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

The associate may lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus

 

 

Working Conditions

 

Generally works in an office setting but will be required to perform some job duties inside a plant environment

While performing the duties of this job, the associate may be exposed to moving mechanical parts and vehicular traffic

The associate may be exposed to a wide range of temperatures

The noise level is frequently loud
