Course Production Engineer I

Job Description and Responsibilities:

 

This role will prepare and deploy online customer training content. After receiving source material from a CDNS course developer, the role activities include adding generic content common to all online courses, integrating any videos or solving video integration problems, assessing audio quality and performing audio cleanup if required, producing course output files, getting the content to the learning management system, and archiving training content. The individual will also create videos using screen capture software and edit then publish the video to a streaming media server. The individual will work on audio transcript part (Create/Edit) and generate a synthesis speech using CDNS tool. The individual will also play a role on translating online courses in different languages on demand. All production output will be verified for quality and proper functioning in a production learning environment.

 

Required Skills and Experience:

 

Experience incorporating graphics, animations, audio, video, other multimedia elements into Microsoft PowerPoint.

Experience incorporating graphics, animations, audio, video, other multimedia elements and interactivity into Articulate Storyline 360.

Experience creating/editing video using Techsmith Camtasia

Experience in FlipHTML5 tool and create interactive content

Experience deploying multimedia content to the web

Experience editing sound and video files

Knowledge of Text to Speech systems, language translation systems, and timing Closed Captions to video.

Strong ability to manage workflow, manage changing priorities and meet deadlines

Good working knowledge of U.S. business English

Strong interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively by telephone and email across multiple time zones.

Desired Skills and Experience:

 

Experience and knowledge of state-of-the-art multimedia software to include graphics and images, illustration, animation, imaging, photo editing, audio/video editing, and web development software

Knowledge of Adobe Captivate, Photoshop, Acrobat tools

Proficiency writing script files to interface between or enhance authoring tools (VBA scripting, JavaScripting, HTML5, CSS, XML, JASON, Phython, API)

Experience with SCORM-compliant Learning Management Systems (LMS)

Knowledge of xAPI statement and generating reports

Knowledge of creating closed caption and translations methodologies using various tools

Proficient with appropriate methodologies to implement, test, and maintain eLearning content

The successful candidate will have:

 

A Bachelor’s degree in Graphics Design, Multimedia Design, Computer Science, or related discipline

1 to 3 years equivalent experience producing Web and/or eLearning development
