We have an outstanding opportunity for a Data Architect to join the team. This position can work remotely from home, and must be located in Iowa or Wisconsin as you will be asked to travel to Madison, WI or Cedar Rapids, IA as needed.
In this position you will be responsible for the enterprise data architecture, including implementation of our enterprise data catalogue from the ground up. You will work with both business and Information Technology stakeholders to ensure that the data architecture meets expectations and requirements for both today and the future. You will also play a key role in the design of our organization’s data architecture, including how data is stored, consumed, integrated and used by internal users, IT systems and third-party vendors.

Job Responsibilities
- Ownership of the enterprise data model.
- Provide support for data governance policies and procedures.
- Management of the enterprise data catalog.
- Ensuring data-centric software and hardware solutions are planned and designed in accordance with information technology strategies, standards, and architecture principles.
- Lead evaluation, design, and analysis for the implementation of data architecture solutions
- Plan, architect, and guide delivery of complex cloud data infrastructure solutions
- Translate requirements into a reusable enterprise data architecture
Job Qualifications
What we are seeking:
- 7 years of experience in information technology, large scale project management across multiple hardware/software platforms, and/or large-scale information technology development and implementation.
- 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst, Data Scientist or Data Engineer is highly desirable.
- In-depth experience of designing and implementing data-centric solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field preferred
- Knowledge of distributed data technologies.
- Knowledge of data modeling, data pipeline concepts and cloud-based infrastructure disciplines.
- Ability to analyze system requirements and develop plans for migrating existing data to an enterprise data platform that aligns with enterprise data model.
- Able to articulate the holistic benefits of data architecture from a business perspective, while maintaining the relationship with solution teams, data engineers, DevOps, enterprise architecture, business intelligence, and data science teams.
- Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical and conceptual skills; ability to communicate concepts/theories to a variety of stakeholders.
- Competency in analytical and conceptual skills that result in the ability to address problems.
- Strategic problem solver with holistic vision, specific focus on automation of existing processes to drive key business performance.
- Ability to use computer software programs (e.g., e‐mail, word processing, spreadsheet, and project management).
- Knowledge of the utility industry and its regulatory environment strongly preferred.
- Ability to work effectively in a diverse work environment.
