The Wesfarmers Advanced Analytics Centre (AAC) is looking for a highly motivated and collaborative professional to work alongside our talented Data Scientists, Engineers and Analytics Leads. As one of Australia’s largest listed companies, this role will have a unique opportunity to partner with our iconic retail and industrials brands including Bunnings, Kmart, Catch, Target, Officeworks and Blackwoods.
The AAC plays a key role in the Wesfarmers’ Group data and digital strategy and works closely with our businesses to help deliver advanced analytics solutions to improve customer experience and business performance.
Based in Melbourne, this full-time role will be integral in supporting critical data assets with a core focus on data quality and wider enablement activities.
Working as part of a high performing advanced analytics team, your contributions to our team will include:
- Developing a data quality program for the AAC which includes activities such as root cause analysis, measuring performance against agreed KPIs and liaising with business and technical stakeholders;
- Developing solutions which will enable the establishment of data analysis capabilities (including data access, data transformation and visualisation);
- Providing ongoing data governance support and analysis;
- Establishing and managing structured data management practices;
- Working closely with our data engineering team to establish and maintain data pipelines using automated data validation techniques where possible; and
- Partnering with our Analytics Leads on advanced analytics use cases as required.
Our ideal candidate will have:
- Tertiary qualifications in a Computer Science, Applied Statistics or a quantitative discipline is essential;
- DAMA CDMP certifications will be highly desirable;
- Significant experience working as an Analyst within a large, complex environment;
- Ability to communicate technical concepts and insights to key stakeholders;
- Understanding of data governance and management frameworks and their application to the business;
- Experience using Python, Snowflake and Power BI will be highly regarded;
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities;
- Well-developed interpersonal and influencing skills; and
- A genuine interest and passion to learn and develop new skills.
