Demand Planner – Shimano Fishing New Zealand

Shimano New Zealand is looking for a candidate to join our enthusiastic Auckland based team in a multi-faceted product ranging and procurement position.
The role requires a strong affinity with our fishing accessory range combined with experience in demand planning, excellent co-ordination and administrative skills, and the ability to work cross functionally with Sales, Product and Finance.
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Ranging, demand forecasting and purchase planning for all Shimano and Rapala fishing accessories
- Drive growth in accessory sales through market leading analysis, continuous trend identification and excellent product awareness
- Managing factory lead times, capacity constraints, order quantity requirements and volatile delivery timeframes
- Maintaining appropriate stock levels by in accordance with purchasing forecasts and company KPI’s
- Develop and improve internal work processes, end to end demand planning workflows, automate reporting where possible
- Maximise shipment efficiencies and reduce costs where possible
- Working with product & sales managers to establish and maintain purchasing forecasts
- Develop relationships with key suppliers / contacts
To be considered for this position we would envisage you would meet the following criteria:
- Have advanced MS Excel skills and knowledge
- Must be proficient at manipulating and analysing detailed data
- Be a passionate fishing enthusiast
- Maintain a high level of accuracy, attention to detail & self review
- Demand forecasting and purchase planning knowledge
- Be able to challenge the status quo, identify improvement opportunities, propose solutions and pro-actively problem solve
- Dedicated team player that shows initiative
- Show excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Self motivated hard worker
