Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
- Drive internal teams and relevant data vendors to develop eCommerce dashboards and reporting; track key performance metrics for eCommerce performance and summarize actionable outputs with internal/external stakeholders
- Expertly utilize data to drive conversion, repeat rate, basket size, profitability and other Digital KPIs leveraging analytics to identify category opportunities to formulate, execute and evaluate both short-term and long-term strategic plans
- Develop storylines and presentations to effectively communicate findings both internally and externally to vendors and key stakeholders
- Advance assortment expansion: identify selection gaps, prioritize new item production, identify new target suppliers and develop relationships
- Coach vendor performance using data to expand upon successes, advantageously address white space and mitigate issues
- Create and execute a profitable promotional strategy driving vendor negotiations around assortment selection, pricing, promotional and digital opportunities
- Expertly leverage Experience, Program, Product, Engineering, and Digital Marketing resources
- Optimize the visual presentation of products and services to highlight features and benefits across all aspects of the site in partnership with the Digital Experience teams
- Lead process improvement discussions across the organization
- Work well with ambiguity, proactively leveraging experience to drive success
- Maintain industry expertise; keep abreast of competition, trends and new product ideas
- Train, develop and mentor assistant digital merchant

What You’ll Need
- 8+ years’ experience in category management/buying
- Digital experience is a MUST
- Bachelors’ Degree
- Articulate and persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal
- A track record of successful negotiation and relationship management skills
- An ability to hit the ground running – a confident, entrepreneurial self-starter
- Innovative problem-solving skills – dissect and determine root causes of problems and implement solutions
- Analytical skills to identify opportunities and tell a story internally and externally
- Proven track record of forward-looking thought leadership and ability to adapt in fast-paced, changing environments
- A track record of taking on big challenges and delivering despite obstacles and limited resources
- Experience managing others preferred
