Position Summary

The Director Account Management, Oncology will have responsibility for leading the East Regional team of experienced field-based sales professionals in retaining and growing the existing distribution customer, for our community oncology clinic business. This person will be responsible for developing the sales skills of their team, setting individual and group goals, establishing and tracking KPIs for team, and working collaboratively across the business to secure resources to set their team up for success.

Key Responsibilities

Knowledgeable of the competitive landscape within community oncology to create a compelling value proposition. Develop and implement key performance metrics for sales team to follow that will improve the team’s ability to retain and grow customer’s business. Develop the sales and professional skills of team. Handling all people-management responsibilities including mentoring employees to support their growth and development. Driving and implementing a consistent sales approach to create a united value proposition across community oncology. Interface with customers and executives on a regular basis to provide real-time coaching and to ensure connection to the market. Be the voice of the customer to help guide how McKesson Specialty supports customers

Minimum Requirements

  • Typically requires 9+ years of professional experience and 1+ years of supervisory and/or management experience.

Critical Skills

  • 8+ years of direct account management experience supporting or selling into a customer

  • Track record of coaching, developing, and managing a field-based team of (6-8 Account Executives) to meet or exceed individual and team sales goals/targets.

  • Experience in the healthcare industry to include; oncology, pharmaceutical distribution services, healthcare technology and inventory management, and/or group purchasing organization GPO.

  • Experience in setting goals and managing to specific sales KPI’s.

  • Demonstrated success in strategy implementation and change management.

Specialized Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent communication, presentation, negotiation, and motivational skills.

  • Strong business and financial acumen

  • Project management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint) and Salesforce.com or CRM software

Education

  • Degree or equivalent experience.  Undergraduate degree preferred.

Travel

  • Ability to travel up to 80% of the time, required.

Physical Requirements

  • Home based office with extensive travel requirements (80% travel)

  • Employee needs to live within the Eastern Region territory (East coast states to MN, WI, IL, KY, TN, AR, LA) and close to a major airport
