The improvement of Bombardier Aviation Competitiveness has been identified as a priority to ensure the success of all our aircraft programs, particularly on the Global 7500, our flagship product. With this goal in mind, a Director position has been created related to Cost optimization within the Aerostructure Procurement team. The Aerostructures commodity spans across raw material, hardware, fabricated metal parts, composites and major structural assemblies.
In this context, the primary objective is therefore to develop and execute Strategies improving total acquisition costs of our purchased Bill Of Material (BOM) in a sustainable manner. More precisely, you will focus on Design to Cost activities in close collaboration with the Procurement teams and all other relevant stakeholders. You will also contribute and foster the coordination between the Program teams and our Procurement organizations.

The Jobholder will report to the Senior Director of Procurement for Aerostructures, and the position is based in Montreal (Canada).
In your role, you will:
Have Aerostructures Supply Chain Strategy
• Develop and maintain the overall Aerostructures Supply Chain strategy
• Keep up to date with latest technological advances in the relevant fields
• Identify Supply Chain risks and drive strong mitigation plans with all stakeholders
• Build strong relationships with our key Strategic suppliers.
• Provide coaching to the Procurement team and personally lead complex commercial and contractual negotiations
Design to Cost (driving configuration changes making purchased items
• Act as the executive sponsor of Aerostructure Procurement in the Design to Cost project alongside Program, Engineering, Quality & Operations.
• Represents Procurement in executive change boards to drive best possible value to Bombardier and instill a return of investment mentality.
• Leads the Procurement team in charge of execution of the identified projects.
Leverage our industrial footprint (Buy to Make)
• Work closely with the Industrialization teams to leverage our internal capabilities with our Supply Chain.
• Identify and influence the team in Make-Buy decisions for the Aerostructures commodities.
• Act as a champion for change and drives effective communication with our Supply Chain.
Transit team (Buy to Buy)
• Lead the transition team, in charge of moving components from one Supplier to another.
• Integrate all relevant functions to deliver all transitions on time, within allocated budgets
• Ensure all aspects of the business cases are delivered, particularly recurring cost savings and security of Supply
Qualifications
As our ideal candidate,
• You have a university or college degree in a related field ideally in Business Administration or aeronautic engineering,
• You have at least 10-15 years’ experience and knowledge of Procurement Aerostructure environment
• You have strong customer focused approach, teamwork, communication and interpersonal skills
• You have proven track record of conducting complex commercial and contractual negotiations
• You have strong project management and problem solving skills
• You are at ease with data management and analysis.
• You have strong analytical skills and financial acumen
• You are proficient in English, French as a plus
