Cadence IP Design Group is looking for an experienced hands on hardware design engineering director for design IP team management, including supervising and growing a diverse team of engineers and managing/tracking multiple design projects in parallel.
This position requires an experienced front-end design manager to manage a team of RTL designers working on multiple projects. The person will be managing all tasks from specification through project completion. The person will also contribute technically to the projects by participating in the specification process and in all design reviews and signoffs for each project. The person will track project progress and ensure projects stay on track for timely completion.
The team of engineers to be managed ranges from highly experienced to relatively inexperienced. As such, the manager must be able guide and develop people at several different levels of experience to encourage career growth and progression. In addition, this person will hire and manage contractors from time to time.
The position requires regular communication with business-unit management, marketing, sales, and customers. The successful candidate must have demonstrated the ability to work with cross-functional teams and to engage in technical discussions with customers.
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering or other related field.
- A minimum of 10 years of design experience and 4 years of technical team and project management.
- The person must have excellent written and oral communications skills.
- Experience in design IP and/or DDR memory systems desired
