Responsibilities

– Under directive supervision, performs work in the maintenance, repair, modification, and troubleshooting of equipment.

– Under directive supervision, performs maintenance, inspection, repair, testing, calibration, and surveillance on plant equipment.

– Under directive supervision, repairs reactor protection circuitry, fuel handling equipment, turbine protective circuitry, feedwater instrumentation and control systems, radiation monitoring equipment and other plant instrumentation and control systems.

– Under directive supervision, performs preventive maintenance on instrument and control equipment/systems.

– Under directive supervision, identifies problems, defects, and failures which degrade component and system integrity and reliability.

 

Qualifications

Required Skills

High school Diploma or equivalent and successfully passing the Mechanical Aptitude (MASS) test. Minimum of 2 years of electrical or electronic maintenance power plant experience or 2 year degree in related vocational/trade school or equivalent military training with one year of electrical maintenance power plant experience. Working knowledge of electrical/electronic maintenance and repair techniques and the tools/equipment ordinarily used. Solid understanding of electrical and electronic principles and associated circuitry. Ability to work rotating shift schedules, irregular and/or extra hours as assigned. Ability to obtain unescorted access to a nuclear power plant/controlled access area and respirator qualification for Emergency Response Organization position. Effective written and verbal communication skills.

 

Company Testing

Candidate is required to successfully complete MASS testing.
