What is the Engineer-Systems Software responsible for?

  • This role is an Engineer role in ‘Tools – Engineering and Operations’ team, which providers Enterprise Monitoring, Automation and Capacity Planning services to all application and infrastructure teams within Franklin Technology.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of Engineer – Systems Software?

  • Develop, Design and Deliver comprehensive monitoring solution (using Zabbix, ELK, SCOM monitoring tools) for new applications as well as identifying existing gap within the existing monitoring and enhancing it further.
  • Develop, Design and Deliver automation solutions for the organization using the data center, application automation and configuration management tools (like Truesight Server Automation, Saltstack etc)
  • Perform integration with enterprise tools and applications to enable self-service, automation, optimization, self-healing and enhanced digital and customer experience
  • Perform root cause analysis and remediation activities for various incidents, applications and infrastructure issues
  • Deliver Operational tasks assigned within pre-defined SLAs
  • Should be innovative and able to influence teams to take right decision and approach
  • Should be able to coordinate with other technology teams for various organizational level tasks and initiatives
  • Should be able to work in flexible shift depending on work requirements and priorities and should be able to work in 24×7 on call support (in rotation)
 What ideal qualifications, skills & experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience.
  • 7-10 years related experience.
  • Mandatory skills – Excellent skills in php / python programming languages
  • Mandatory skills – Should have Tools Administration experience – any one of the tools (ELK, Zabbix, SCOM or any other monitoring tool, Open source monitoring and APM tools)
  • Should be good in unix shell scripting or powershell scripting
  • Good to have experience in Oracle Database,My SQL, MS SQL, Postgres SQL (Not Mandatory)
  • Open to learn new tools and technologies, be flexible with work timings
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills as well as strong logical, analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Automation Tools knowledge like BMC TrueSight Server Automation, Saltstack (good to have skill)
  • AIOPs tools like Moogsoft (Good to have)
