Job Summary:
Analysts at the level are deeply involved in the main workload of the department or asset. They should be proficient at data management. Mastery of engineering programs and activities are expected. This individual doesn’t only maintain reports but can alter and build reports. Their corporate footprint is expanded. Involvement in committees and groups/teams is prevalent. Can work independently but is expected to be a team-oriented contributor. Adaption to their discipline is key. Works under minimal supervision.
Job Duties:
- Assist in preparing technical data for interpretation, conduct analyses and routine computer processing of the data, and help create final displays of the results, often for formal presentations.
- Organize and manipulate data in spreadsheet and database software packages (Excel, Access, Spotfire). Able to summarize data and to assemble tables, digital graphics, and maps in PowerPoint presentations.
- Create, digitize, or acquire, and subsequently manipulate, format and load cultural, well, log, map and reservoir data into mapping, geologic and or seismic interpretation projects.
- Follow and execute established data management workflows.
- Participate in committees related to engineering entity.
- Update departmental shared resources. (boards, folders, charts, schedules, and lists)
- Automate processes to ensure data integrity.
- QA/QC data.
- Conducts detailed analysis
- Performs other/additional duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required, preferably in computer science, mathematics, or related area. Education should include mathematical and computer training.
- Minimum of 2-5 years’ experience in an analyst role in the oil & gas industry. Other analytical non-industry experience may be considered
- Expanded level of data handling skills to include data integration and creating reports.
- Proficient working with relational databases and generating data visualizations.
- Advanced proficiency in MS Office suite.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel preferred
- Proficiency using Spotfire and Power BI preferred
- Can modify established workflows and identify and trouble shoot errors as they arise.
- Can interpret understand and explain workflows and data processes.
- Works under moderate supervision.
- Work has minimal impact on the work unit.
- Works with technical staff and professionals.
