ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN

Job Accountabilities

The Engineering Technician will assist engineers and manufacturing staff with business critical projects that support daily operations, safety, quality and productivity improvements of our products and processes.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consults with design engineers on features needed for new or existing installation.
  • Prepares purchase requisitions or work orders to obtain needed tools or parts for the installation.
  • Coordinates staff and assists in set-up die and equipment assembly and debugging for installations to insure on-time completion.
  • Investigates and resolves engineering related manufacturing problems.
  • Compares dimensions of parts to blueprints, and resolves differences by revising or redesigning, utilizing AutoCAD and Inventer Programs.
  • Assists with satellite plant installations, as needed, including set-up, assembly, problem solving and follow-up to project completion.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar engineering area
  • 2-3 years manufacturing engineering experience
  • Background in Lean/6-Sigma helpful, but not required
  • Prior leadership experience a plus
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required
  • High level of independent thinking and resourcefulness to develop and propose solutions to problems
  • Ability to interface with various levels of staff from peers to management, to production employees
