Job Accountabilities
The Engineering Technician will assist engineers and manufacturing staff with business critical projects that support daily operations, safety, quality and productivity improvements of our products and processes.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Consults with design engineers on features needed for new or existing installation.
- Prepares purchase requisitions or work orders to obtain needed tools or parts for the installation.
- Coordinates staff and assists in set-up die and equipment assembly and debugging for installations to insure on-time completion.
- Investigates and resolves engineering related manufacturing problems.
- Compares dimensions of parts to blueprints, and resolves differences by revising or redesigning, utilizing AutoCAD and Inventer Programs.
- Assists with satellite plant installations, as needed, including set-up, assembly, problem solving and follow-up to project completion.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or similar engineering area
- 2-3 years manufacturing engineering experience
- Background in Lean/6-Sigma helpful, but not required
- Prior leadership experience a plus
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills required
- High level of independent thinking and resourcefulness to develop and propose solutions to problems
- Ability to interface with various levels of staff from peers to management, to production employees
